‖n. [ NL., fr. Gr. 'hw`s dawn + say^ros lizard. ] (Paleon.) An extinct marine reptile from the coal measures of Nova Scotia; -- so named because supposed to be of the earliest known reptiles. [ 1913 Webster ]
