Terebrate

v. t. [ L. terebratus, p. p. of terebrare, from terebra a borer, terere to rub. ] To perforate; to bore; to pierce. [ R. ] Sir T. Browne. [ 1913 Webster ]

a. 1. (Zool.) Boring; perforating; -- applied to molluskas which form holes in rocks, wood, etc. [ 1913 Webster ]
