Torula

‖n.; pl. Torulae /plu> [ NL., dim. of L. torus a semicircular molding. ] (Biol.) (a) A chain of special bacteria. (b) A genus of budding fungi. Same as Saccharomyces. Also used adjectively. [ 1913 Webster ]
