หลักง่ายๆ ในการใช้ Preposition; IN ON  AT

I was born in Manhattan, New York on the 19^th of December in 1990. Manhattan is the most densely populated of the five boroughs of New York City in the United States. That was many years ago. Now, I live in Bangkok in Thailand. I work at Metamedia Technology. I sometimes play tennis on the weekend. I meet my friends at the Polo club at 4 P.M. or later. In the winter, usually in December, I visit my host family in America. We go to the art museum in the morning and spend our lovely day together at the coffee shop. In the evening, we often have dinner at a nice restaurant in downtown. Sometimes, we go to a bar later at night.  

คำ Preposition คือคำที่ทำหน้าที่เชื่อมโยงคำหรือกลุ่มคำซึ่งเกี่ยวข้องกับตำแหน่ง สถานที่ เวลา คำที่เราพบบ่อยๆ ก็คือ In On At

จากข้อความข้างบน ถ้าสังเกตดีๆ เราจะเห็นหลักในการใช้ Preposition ที่ถูกต้อง 

In 

              ใช้กับเดือน  เช่น in May

              ใช้กับฤดูกาล เช่น in Winter

              ใช้กับประเทศ เช่น in America

              ใช้กับชื่อเมือง เช่น in New York

              ใช้กับช่วงเวลาในวัน เช่น in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening

               ** แต่ตอนกลางคืนเราจะใช้ At night ไม่ใช่ in night

On

                ใช้กับวันที่เฉพาะเจาะจง เช่น on Friday, on April the 18^th, on Valentine’s day

                คนอเมริกันใช้ on กับ สัปดาห์ด้วย เช่น on the weekend

At

                ใช้กับเวลาที่เฉพาะเจาะจง เช่น 8 o’clock, 4 P.M., at night, at the moment

                ใช้กับสถานที่เฉพาะเจาะจง เช่น at school, at hospital, at home

                คนอังกฤษใช้ at กับ สัปดาห์ด้วยเช่น at the weekend, at weekends
