‖n. [ NL., fr. L. Lernaeus Lernæan, fr. Lerna, Gr. Le`rnh, a forest and marsh near Argos, the mythological abode of the hydra. ] (Zool.) A Linnæan genus of parasitic Entomostraca, -- the same as the family Lernæidæ. [ 1913 Webster ]
