Ark \Ark\ ([aum]rk), n. [OE. ark, arke, arche, AS. arc, earc,
earce, fr. L. arca, fr. arcere to inclose, keep off; akin to
Gr. 'arkei^n to keep off.]
1. A chest, or coffer. [Obs.]
